 Asian Youth Leader Forum (AYLF)
Asian Youth Leaders Forum (AYLF)

Initiated and organised by both the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM) and the Shanghai Youth Federation (SYF), Asian Youth Leaders Forum (AYLF) created the platform for the youth leaders from the Asia-Pacific region to debate and share on issues that affect the youths from their countries. The first AYLF, organised by PAYM, was held in 2003 in Singapore where budding youth entrepreneurs debated and provide insights on the entrepreneurial climate of their home countries. The second forum was held in December 2005 in Shanghai where the topics of youth addiction to internet and also guidelines of internet security were discussed.

The third PAYM – SYF Asian Youth Leaders Forum 2007 will be held in July 2007 in Singapore.  About 100 participants are expected to participate, of which 50 are foreign delegates from the Asian region, between the ages of 18 and 40.

The theme for AYLF 2007 will be Insights to Corporate Social Responsibility in Asia: YOUth Speak!”  Besides community organisations and schools, corporate companies have gradually become an important stakeholder in community activities.  Further, in the current globalised business climate, it is increasingly important for corporate companies to be more open and accountable for the social, environmental as well as the economic consequences of their activities, and to instil a sense of community ownership and a spirit of volunteerism among employees.  The AYLF 2007 gathers youth from the Asian countries to enhance their understanding among one another and heighten their awareness on corporate social responsibility.
